PM I Minor Preventative Maintenance Service:

  • Check oil, coolant, and fuel ( oil & coolant added if needed)

  • Inspect unit for any leaks, oil, coolant, and air

  • Check anti-freeze protection

  • Service and clean batteries, connectors, and cables

  • Load test batteries, check the electrolyte level

  • Check battery charger

  • Test safety shutdowns & governor operation

  • Check fuel system for water

  • Check day tank / (transfer pump) operation if applicable

  • Check block heaters and accessories

  • Check all wiring AC and DC

  • • Check all meters and gauges

  • Check exhaust system

  • Test automatic transfer switches

  • File service reports and recommendations

PM II Major Preventative Maintenance Service:

  • Replace crankcase oil and filters ( old oil disposed of an EPA approved manner)

  • Replace fuel filters

  • Replace coolant conditioner filters (as required)

  • Service crankcase breather system

  • Check air filter if replaced, it will be done at an added cost)

  • Inspect turbocharger clearances

  • Adjust battery charger (if batteries are replaced it will be done at an added cost)

  • Check fuel tank for water if applicable

  • Check operation of day tanks / (transfer pump) and fuel tanks if applicable

  • Inspect hoses, belts, clamps, and fuel lines

  • Install water conditioner ( as required)

  • Test safety shutdowns, governor operation & governor oil if applicable

  • Check operation without load, with building load if possible

  • Record operation performance

  • Check operation of all automatic transfer switches

  • All testing to be scheduled with building personnel

  • File service reports and recommendations

  • Lube fan hub bearings if applicable

  • Replace plugs, points, and condenser if applicable

  • Inspect/lubricate rear bearings if applicable

  • Lubricate over speed switch
